Burnett Wins Conference Individual Championship
University Park, IL - Isabell Burnett is on quite the roll this spring. With a win and a runner-up finish already this spring, she came into the CCAC Conference Tournament riding high.
Over the course of the two day event, she continued on that hot streak.
In round one, Burnett shot a 74. She was one of just three players to shoot a round in the 70's. After the first day, Burnett held a five shot lead over second place.
The event was held at the University Park Golf Course with a par of 72 and a total yardage of 6,003 for both days.
On Tuesday, in windier conditions, Burnett held steady with a score of 81. Her total score of 155 was the low score, and good for a three shot victory to be crowned the 2026 CCAC Conference Individual Champion.
It is the first conference champion for Head Coach John Wedell, who has been the Eagles head coach on the men's side for nine years, and ten years on the women's side. In checking the historical archives, it is believed to be the first conference champion in program history.
With the win, it makes three in total for Burnett this season, which also ties a school record for most wins in a season. The three wins ties Brighton Young from 2021-2022. Now in her last three events this spring, she has gone first, second, and first.
As a team, the Eagles played well overall and finished in second place behind Olivet Nazarene. JU's two day team total of 676 was nine shots behind the top spot.
Grace Kidwell posted an 85 and 84 for a total of 169.
Frieda Euscher-Klingenhagen posted matching rounds of 85 for a total of 170.
Burnett now qualifies for the NAIA championships in a few weeks.
Congratulations on history Ivy!
