Eagles Win Big In Opener
Rosemont, IL - The Judson University Eagles opened the 2026 season in dominant fashion on Thursday afternoon, rolling to an 11–4 victory over Rochester Christian University at Parkway Bank Sports Complex in Rosemont, Ill.
Judson (1-0) wasted no time getting on the board, plating a run in the first inning as Cynthia Alvillar delivered an RBI single to score Allie Arwood. The Eagles added another in the second on a run-scoring single from Carmen Richardson to take a 2-0 lead.
After Rochester Christian evened the score at 2-2 through three innings, the Eagles responded with a decisive three-run fourth. Arwood lifted a sacrifice fly to regain the lead, and Judson capitalized on defensive miscues to extend the advantage to 5-2.
The offense continued to produce throughout the middle innings. Isabella Dugo drove in a run with a single in the fifth, and Tessa Freedman added a sacrifice fly in the sixth. Judson broke the game open in the seventh, scoring three more runs — highlighted by a RBI double from Jessica Salinas to put the contest out of reach.
The Eagles racked up 16 hits in the win. Alvillar led the charge with a perfect 5-for-5 performance and two RBIs. Dugo finished 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, while Salinas added two hits and drove in a run. Arwood and Bella Farias each collected two hits as part of the balanced offensive attack.
In the circle, Madi Palmatier earned the season's first win, tossing four innings and allowing two runs on three hits. Chelsea Herrick shut the door with 2.1 scoreless innings to secure the save.
The Eagles will play two more games on Sunday afternoon as a part of the Rosemont Dome series of games.
