Elgin, IL - Last we saw the Eagles Men's Soccer team, they were raising the trophy at the NCCAA Nationals. A few short months later, they are kicking off welcome weekend with the first official contest of the new season.
Judson hosted Clarke on the Dawson Field pitch on a perfect Thursday afternoon.
The first half was a near 0-0 draw until Clarke got on the board at the buzzer on a well designed corner kick. With about eight seconds left, the Pride quickly set up for a corner kick, and netted a goal just as the horn sounded for halftime.
After the break, just three minutes in, the Eagles were able to respond with a tying goal by newcomer Danail Mihaylov. He was assisted by Inigo Capellan.
That would be it for the scoring as the game would end in a 1-1 tie.
In net, Ivan Dominguez was credited with six saves.
Judson will complete their welcome weekend tri series against Oakland City on Saturday afternoon.
