National Champion, Anali Cisneros (SO/Elgin, IL), raced to victory in the 3,000m walk Friday morning at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Pittsburg, KS. Anali entered the championship final with the top time on the NAIA Indoor performance list. She set a fast pace right from the gun and fought off a sustained challenge from Amberly Melendez of Northwest University during the middle portions of the race. Cisneros surged in the final three laps to break the race wide open and capture the title. Cisneros led wire to wire and recorded her second best time of the season finishing in 13:59.60. FR, Nayeli Cisneros (FR/Elgin, IL), made her championship debut Friday morning and finished 7^th in the 3,000m walk earning a spot on the podium with a season best time of 15:53.50.

Anali had her sights set on the NAIA Indoor record, but the need to race smart and win took precedent over breaking a record today. Nayeli has struggled with injury this entire Indoor season. Even today she was not at her best but she dug deep, fought wire to wire, and earned her first All American honor. These young ladies are outstanding athletes, but even better people. Anali Cisneros' win today marks her second national championship in the race walk after winning the 5k event at the NAIA Outdoor Championships in 2017. The two All American performances today increase the number of Track & Field All Americans to five athletes over the past two years. The Eagles scored 12 points today marking the highest total by a Judson team at NAIA nationals. Judson is in 6^th place entering the final day of competition.
