Eagles Win Regular Season Finale
Joliet, IL - The Judson University women's tennis team competed against St. Francis University in challenging conditions, facing heavy winds and occasional rain throughout the match. But, despite the difficult weather, the Eagles delivered a strong performance.
In doubles play, the number one pairing of Erin Jacobs and Charlie Stirling dominated with a 6-0 victory, while the number two team of Carla Guerrero and Ruth Hernandez secured a solid 6-2 win. These results gave the Eagles the doubles point and a 1-0 lead heading into singles.
In singles competition, Charlie Stirling continued her impressive form at the number two spot, winning 6-2, 6-1. Carla Guerrero followed with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at number three, and Ruth Hernandez delivered a commanding 6-2, 6-0 win at number four.
With these results, the Eagles clinched the match. Erin Jacobs, playing at number one, was unable to finish her match due to the team result, trailing 3-6 in the first set but leading 5-3 in the second when play was called.
It was a great day for the Eagles, who secured a 4-2 overall victory. The team now looks ahead to the CCAC Tournament, which begins this Tuesday, where they will face Lawrence Tech in the first round and aim for another strong performance.
