Eagles Compete Against Quincy
Crystal Lake, IL - The Judson Eagles women's tennis team faced off against the Quincy University Hawks in their first home match of the season, held just 20 minutes away at the Crystal Lake Racket Club. With friends and family in attendance, the energy was high from the start. The Eagles brought great intensity to warm-ups and were ready to compete.
The match began with doubles play. At the No. 2 spot, Carla Guerrero and Ruth Hernandez fought hard but ultimately fell 2-6.
At No. 1 doubles, Erin Jacobs and Charlie Stirling delivered a strong performance, securing a 6-3 victory and earning their first doubles win of the season.
Heading into singles with their heads held high, the Eagles continued to battle. Anna Illes competed at the No. 5 position and gave her best effort but came up short, 0-6, 0-6. Charlie Stirling stepped into the No. 1 singles spot this week, taking on a tough opponent and battling through a competitive match before falling 4-6, 4-6.
At No. 2 singles, Erin Jacobs fought until the very end in a thrilling three-set match, earning a hard-fought 7-5, 2-6, 11-9 victory in the final tiebreak.
Carla and Ruth also began their singles matches at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions, but due to time constraints and the team result already decided in favor of Quincy, play was stopped before their matches were completed.
Overall, it was a positive day for the Eagles, finishing with two individual wins and valuable match experience. While there is still room to grow, the team continues to build chemistry and compete with determination. The Eagles now look ahead to Friday's matchup against North Central College Cardinals, where they hope to carry their energy forward and earn their first team win of the season.
