Eagles Secure Team Victory
North Park, IL - After coming off a close match on Friday against Wheaton College falling 4-3, the Eagles were back at it on Saturday against North Park University.
The Eagles and North Park split the six singles matches, along with the first two doubles matches. In the final doubles match to secure the win, it was JU coming out on top for the 4-3 win.
After a few seasons of being under-rostered, the Eagles have competed well in their first two matches of the fall.
Judson is led by Erin Jacobs and Charlie Stirling, who will generally occupy the top two spots in the singles rotation. Gaining valuable experience, the two have come out strong. Jacobs and Stirling will also be the primary doubles team for Judson, and thus far they are already 2-0 as a pair. On this track, the two could see big things come the spring.
Newcomer Carla Guerrero won her singles match 6-1, 6-0. Her and Mackenzie Meland were the doubles pair that clinched the win, winning their match 7-5.
Nicol Valeria Torres Villamil also won her singles match 6-1, 6-3.
It has been a build to get to this point for the Eagles, and it is great to see the hard work begin to pay off.
Their next match will be Saturday, September 13th at Purdue Northwest.
