Crown Point, IN - The Eagles traveled out to Crown Point for some Friday Night Lights action against Governors State. The red hot Eagles, who are racking up the conference points had another opportunity to earn points as the regular season winds down.
In the first half, JU struck first with a goal in the 22nd minute by Araceli Romero-Molina. Her second goal of the season was assisted by Jozie Richert.
Just before half, Gov State was able to tie things up in the 38th minute. It was the first goal allowed by the Eagles in six games.
Judson outshot Gov State 9-5 in the first half, and 12-5 in the second half.
Goalie Eva Fernandez tallied seven saves on the night.
In the second half, things were still even until the 85th minute. Liza Von Blumenthal scored her team high fourth goal of the season. She was assisted by Romero-Molina who had a nice night. Blumenthal led JU with six of the 21 shots on the night with her final one finding the back of the net.
The Eagles are now 5-6-1 overall and 4-3-1 in conference play. They have 13 points in the CCAC standings which is currently sixth place, but just two points back of the top spot in a bunch top half of the standings.
Judson has just four games remaining in the regular season. Next up is IUSB on Wednesday October 15th at home.
