#1 Eagles Take Second At Kohawk
Cedar Rapids, IA - This past weekend the Judson Eagles competed at the Kohawk Invite in Cedar Rapid, Iowa.
On the Ladies Varsity side, this team had another great performance finishing 2nd only 22 pins from the Title! This team started hot with a 1031 game 1 led by Sophomore Standout Payten Kusilek who shot 248! Payten led the way on Saturday with games of 248, 213, 193, 214, and 187 for a 211 average which earned her 2nd All-Tournament team of the season and her 1st Tournament MVP of her Eagle Career as she finished 1st overall! Payten was also 80% on multipins and 80% on single pins while striking 50% of the time on the weekend.
Sophomore standout Cassidy Davenport finished 9th individually came back strong after a slow start to finish with games of 203, 204, 190, and 224 and a 197 average on the day, Cass also struck a awesome 52% of the time on the weekend. Junior Captain Madison Davenport finished 13th and had games of 216 and 224 on Saturday as she averaged 194 for the event and struck a fantastic 54% of the time on the weekend. Senior Kyley Olson finished 16th and was solid with games of 210 and 209 and an average of 190 on Saturday. Kyley was also 90% on single pins and an astounding 87% on multipins on the weekend and had the high overall fill percentage on the team at 86% for the weekend.
Senior Captain Paige Carpenter had high games of 210 and 207 on Saturday and an 83% single pin percentage and struck 46% of the time on the weekend. Sitting in 2nd place after day 1 the team got into a bit of a hole heading into the last match down 123 pins to mount mercy this team put together a fantastic baker set of 215, 226, 190, 225 for 856 and was able to get almost all of those pins back but coming up 22 pins short in the end.
This team now has 5 1st place finishes and 4 2nd place finishes of the 9 events bowled this season!
On the JV Ladies side they were able to come away with a 3rd place finish! Led by Freshman standout Jenna Pitts who finished 12th individually with games of 203,188,223,170, and 199 and an average of 196 and her best performance of the season. Jenna was also 91% on single pins and 75% on multipins while having her best strike rate of the season at 49%!
Junior Katelyn Kiefer averaged 185 for her 4 games on Saturday with a high game of 232 on the day and was 77% on single pins and struck 40% of the time for the weekend. Freshman standout Joss Collins had her best performance as an Eagle averaging 178 on with the weekend with a high game of 204. Joss was a solid 83% on single pins and struck 43% of the time on the weekend.
Sophomore Piper Ennett contributed with a 40% strike percentage on the weekend, Freshman Breana Saunders was 67% on single pins, Sophomore Alexis VandeKolk was 73% on single pins and 64% on multipins, and Sophomore Izabel Krajecki was 75% on single pins and struck 36% of the time on the weekend.
Next up we will compete at the last regular season event of the season at the Tier 1 Hoosier Classic on February 13-15 in Indianapolis, IN.
