Carpenter, Eagles Shine Bright At Leatherneck
Rockford, IL - This past weekend the Judson Eagles competed at the Leatherneck Classic tournament in Rockford, IL.
On the Ladies Varsity side, this team stayed red hot finishing in 1st place after the 5 games Saturday and the 16 baker games on Sunday earning us the Top seed heading into Bracket play!
We were able to win our first match against Governors State University 3-2 but lost in match 2 against Indiana Tech 3-2 to finish in ¾ in the event. The USBC ranking points earned will be for our 1st place finish as bracket play does not count towards rankings, so we can consider this a Tournament Title for sure!
Paige Carpenter continued to have a fantastic start to her senior season as she was again tournament MVP finishing 1st overall with games of 196,204,207,221, and 257 for a 217 average! Paige was also 93% on single pins and 87% on multipins for the weekend. Sophomore standout Cassidy Davenport averaged 191 for the weekend and was 75% on multi pins and struck 47% of the time! Sophomore Payten Kusilek was super solid averaging 185 and was 84% on multipins for the weekend.
Junior Madison Davenport was also solid averaging 183 and was 88% on single pins and struck 41% of the time. Senior Kyley Olson averaged 179 and went 90% on single pins and struck a fantastic 46% of the time. Freshman Jenna Pitts was an outstanding teammate and performed great when called upon on Sunday as she was 85% on single pins and 80% on Multipins.
This team now has a 1st place finish a 2nd place finish and a 1st place finish to start the season, this bodes well for what the future holds as the season progresses.
On the JV Ladies side the team was able to come away with a 7th place finish! Junior Katelyn Kiefer came off the bench to average 185 for her 3 games as she also went 83% on Single pins and 87% on multipins for the weekend!
Sophomore Piper Ennett had a solid performance averaging 166 and finishing day 1 with a 212 game, she was 81% on single pins for the weekend. Sophomore Izabel Krajecki averaged 164 for the weekend and struck 31% of the time.
Freshman Breana Saunders averaged 160 and was 76% on single pins for the weekend, Sophomore Alexis Vande Kolk was 73% on single pins, and Freshman Joss Collins was 64% on single pins for the weekend
Next up will be the Boilermaker Classic November 15-16 in Layfaette, IN!
