Eagles Soar On Alumni Day
Elgin, IL – Alumni Day turned into a celebration on and off the court as the Eagles delivered one of their most complete performances of the season, rolling to an 84–60 victory Saturday afternoon.
After a competitive opening quarter that saw Judson cling to a 24–21 lead, the Eagles blew the game open in the second period. Judson poured in 31 points in the frame, shooting nearly 59 percent from the field and an impressive 83 percent from beyond the arc in the quarter. By halftime, the Eagles had built a commanding 55–28 advantage and never looked back.
The long ball proved to be the difference all afternoon. Judson knocked down 11-of-18 three-point attempts (61.1 percent), including a 5-for-6 performance from Allyssa Potter. Potter led the Eagles with 18 points, continuing her strong stretch from deep.
Easton Kimball was dominant on the glass, finishing with a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds to anchor the paint. Callie Kurczek added 10 points and 10 rebounds off the bench, while Madison Carlson chipped in 10 points and five assists. Bridget Grady provided a spark inside with nine points and seven boards.
Judson controlled the rebounding battle 53–31 and outscored Calumet 27–5 in bench points, showcasing the team's depth. The Eagles also capitalized on defensive pressure, forcing 16 turnovers and turning them into 15 points. In all, nine players scored for JU with four reaching double digits in a balanced attack.
With the win, Judson improves to 9–15 overall and 6–12 in conference play. More importantly, the Eagles gave their alumni plenty to cheer about, delivering a decisive victory in front of a home crowd that included generations of former players.
The Eagles have two final games remaining on the schedule, with the finale next Saturday afternoon at home for senior day.
