Eagles Move To 2-0
Elgin, IL - After a mid-week exhibition game at Division I Bradley University, the Eagles were back home on Saturday to take on East-West University.
The difference in the game was the opening quarter. The Eagles got out to a blistering start leading 31-7 after the first ten minutes. JU went 5-9 from the 3-point line, and 12-18 shooting overall in the quarter to get out to the big lead.
Allyssa Potter made three 3-pointers in the quarter. For the game, she was 4-12 from behind the arc for 14 points.
It was a near double-double for Easton Kimball with 8 points and 7 rebounds.
Also filling up the box score with a stellar day was the scrappy guard Jayda Centeno who had 8 rebounds and 7 steals.
Perhaps the number one star of the game was Kendra Brown coming off of the bench. Brown went 4-10 from 3-point range in the game, and 9-16 overall shooting for a team high 22 points. She added seven rebounds as well.
After the big opening quarter, the Eagles continued to maintain the big lead throughout the game. JU won going away 73-34. The Eagles had 18 assists in the game, and outrebounded East-West 55-33. For the second straight game, JU was able shine shooting from long range. Being able to have multiple players with the ability to hit from deep has been a game changer for Judson thus far.
Next week, the Eagles only have a single game on the schedule. It is a home conference game against newcomer Mount Mary University on Wednesday night.
