Elgin, IL – The Judson University athletic department has announced the resignation of six-year women's basketball coach Kristi Cirone as she intends on pursuing other professional ventures. Cirone leaves Judson as the third-winningest coach in program history in both wins, 82, and winning percentage (.439).

Cirone is leaving Judson in a very solid position as she finished the 2017-18 season with a personal best 19 victories and a fourth-place finish in the highly competitive CCAC. Her last three teams all participated in the NCCAA North Central Region Tournament as well.

Cirone came to Judson in the fall of 2012 after serving as a graduate assistant coach at NCAA Division-I University of Missouri for two seasons. Cirone played collegiately at Illinois State University where she holds seven career records and two-single season records at the institution. Her number is retired at Illinois State and she was also the first Redbird to ever play in the WNBA as she played for the Connecticut Sun and the Chicago Sky.

"Kristi was the ultimate team player when it came to helping our Athletic Department," said Chad Gassman, athletic director and head baseball coach. "She did a remarkable job building this program and she will be missed."

The Judson University Athletic Department intends on announcing the ninth head coach in the program's history on Friday.
