Eagles Slug To DH Sweep
Elgin, IL - The Eagles had the bats working on Thursday afternoon as they swept a conference double header against Mount Mary on the home dirt. These games were make up games due to wild weather a week ago. And on this day, it was the Judson offense going wild.
In game one, the Eagles came away with a 14-2 victory. The Eagles scored the two touchdowns on 12 hits up and down the lineup. Josie Yakey, Jordan Peterson, and Maddy Petty each had two hit games in the win. Petty had three RBI's while Josie Yakey crossed the plate three times.
In the circle, senior Haley Slaymaker picked up her first win on the season with the five inning performance. Slaymaker had a shaky first inning giving up the two Blue Angle runs in the opening inning, but was lights out after that striking out five batters.
The offense continued in game two as the Eagles came away with a 9-1 victory. Once again, Josie Yakey and Jordan Peterson were the table setters at the top as each had two more hits in the game.
Cynthia Alvillar also had two hits, and four RBI's in the game. The big blast was her second inning home run over the left field fence. It was her second home run of the season.
This time, it was Cheyenna Wilkins going the distance in the circle pitching a crisp five innings for her first win of the year. Wilkins gave up the lone run in the first inning, but much like Slaymaker was able to lock things down after that. Wilkins notched five strikeouts in the win as well.
