Young Highlights Eagles Efforts At Pointer Open
Stevens Point, WI - The Eagles traveled to UW Stevens Point for an indoor meet at the Pointer Open on Saturday. Many Eagles had strong showings as a few times were added to the records page.
Edward Young placed first in the 60 meters. He had the top pre-lim time at 6.99, and turned in an even better time with a 6.89 in the finals. He narrowly beat out teammate Ian Wiggan as the Eagles went 1-2 in the finals. Wiggan's time was a 7.14 in the finals heat.
Young's 6.89 time is now topps for the program.
Young turned the trick again as he won the 200 meters event as well with a 23.08 time.
Machi Barr saw his name in the number one place in the 400 meters event with a time of 52.18. That mark is now third best in the program.
David Peterson was second in the 1000 meters with a 2:36.32 time, which is a new high mark for the program.
Chase Porsche clocked a 9:04.80 time in the 3000 meters, which was good for 3rd best in the program.
Rounding things out was Wendell Singleton who placed third in the Long Jump with a mark of 6.46 meters. That is now good for third best in the program for indoor events.
