Men 4th at CCAC Outdoor Championships
Joliet, Ill. The Judson University Men's Track & Field Team added to their strong day 1 total to finish with 58 points to secure fourth place at the CCAC Outdoor Championships Saturday. Kiwaun Seals led the charge on day 2 winning the Men's Triple Jump with a jump of 13.58m. Zach Fitzgerald jumped 12.95m to secure 4th place in the event. It was Seals' 2nd All-Conference performance of the meet and 3rd CCAC title in 2021. In the Men's 110m Hurdles, Cameron Carter placed 4th (15.21) and Francisco Villanueva placed 7th (16.09). The Eagles scored two places in the Men's Pole Vault where Zach Rissman and P.G. Nkalang'ango finished 6th and 7th. The Men's 4 x 400m Relay competed well as they raced to a 6th place finish. Team members included Jaret Godinez, Carlos Martinez, Dylan Chandler, and Randy McRoberts. The Judson Women's team placed 6th at the Championships with Marie Mayer placing 7th in the Women's 1500m Run Saturday and the 4 x 400M Relay of Reaganne Graff, Lauren Jones, Beth Rodriguez, and Laysha Hernandez battling to a 7th place finish.
"We had some outstanding performances this weekend with 2 NAIA qualifying performances, 1 JU record, 3 Conference Champions, 6 All-Conference performances, and a 4th place team finish," said Director of Track & Field Joel Popenfoose. "This is a very young team and we expect to make huge strides over the next few years. I am grateful for the effort of our athletes and the fine work of our coaches, Cam Knudsen and Jeff Zoellick."
Judson returns to action May 12-14 at the NCCAA National Championships in Southern Illinois at Greenville University.
