Eagles Finish Strong at CCAC Championships
Davenport, IA Building on a strong opening day at the conference championships, the Judson Men's and Women's Track & Field teams added solid performances on day two of the CCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships as both the Men and the Women's teams finished in fourth place. The Eagles captured 16 All-Conference awards this weekend, established 1 CCAC record and 4 school records and secured two NAIA qualifying standards.
Chloe Burkhart followed up her 5000 Meter qualifying performance on Friday with a NAIA A-standard performance in the 3000 Meter run Saturday. Burkhart's time of 10:27.96 was good for 5th place. Other top performances Saturday included Francisco Villanueva who finished second in the 60 Meter Hurdles in a JU record time of 8.58. Luka Obradovic, finished second in the Triple Jump with a jump of 13.17m (43-02.50). Ben Simpson finished third in the Heptathlon with 3447 points, and Isabel Hindt finished fourth in the 60 Meter Hurdles.
"We had great, gutsy performances all weekend from Anali, Maria and Nayeli sweeping the racewalk to Chloe Burkhart hitting the A standard in the 3,000," said Director of Cross Country/Track & Field Joel Popenfoose. "Our freshmen class stepped up in a big way and our athletes competing in multiple events were just tough. I am very pleased with how we competed. Our coaches Lacey Heaver, Katie Lauesen, and Jeff Zoellick, did a great job preparing our athletes for Conference.

The Eagles compete next at the NAIA Indoor Championships as Judson had six athletes qualify for the event from March 5-7 in Brookings, South Dakota where they look to improve on their eighth-place finish from last year.
