JUDSON SHOWS IMPROVEMENT AT NCCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
BOURBANNAIS, Ill. – Judson University's track and field teams competed in the NCCAA National Championships this weekend, hosted by Olivet Nazarene University on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 21-22, with several athletes finishing in the top eight of their events.
Several Women placed, scoring points in the biggest indoor meet of the year. Senior Meaghan Ciochon finished second in the 3000 meter race with a time of 10:17.74. With that she is ranked 18th in the NAIA, and if she dropped a mere seven seconds, she would be ranked in the top seven in NAIA. Sophomore Jordan Wagner ran her fastest mile ever, placing second in the race with a time of 5:10.93. With that time, she joins three seconds behind Ciochon in the NAIA leaderboards. In the throws, Sophomore Alisha Barnaby threw the weight for a distance of 14.71 meters (48' 3.25") placing her 8th in the event.
On the Men's side, Sophomore Cyrus French ran his fastest 400 meter run to date, placing 8th in the event with a time of 50.81s, scoring for the men's side.
In addition to those who placed, many others finished with strong performances, resulting in either a season best [sb] or a personal record [pr] which also implies a season best. Here is a list of those who improved in such a manner.
