Eagles Match Up With Ranked Grace (IN)
Warsaw, IN — The Judson University men's tennis team faced a difficult road test on Saturday, falling 7-0 to No. 17 Grace College at the Warsaw Racquet Club. The nationally-ranked Lancers protected their home courts with a clinical performance, sweeping the doubles point and all six singles positions. Grace took an early lead by capturing the doubles point and maintained that momentum throughout the singles round.
While the Eagles looked to break into the scoreboard, the Lancers were efficient across the lineup, winning every court in straight sets with one exception.
In the No. 3 singles position, Nicolas Donoso provided the most extended battle of the morning. After splitting the opening two sets to force a match tiebreak, Donoso was unable to keep pace in the final frame as the Lancers pulled away to secure the shutout victory.
The Eagles will have an immediate opportunity to regroup with a high-volume schedule over the next seven days. Judson is set to compete in three matches, providing plenty of court time to find a new rhythm. The stretch begins this Wednesday, March 18, as the Eagles host Millikin University at 11:00 AM in Hanover Park. Following that, the team travels to McHenry County College on Thursday for a 10:30 AM start before wrapping up the week at North Central College on Friday at 6:30 PM.
