Orlando, FL -  The Judson University men's tennis team concluded a demanding spring break campaign in Florida this week, finishing their trip with a high-stakes encounter against one of the nation's elite programs. Competing at the prestigious USTA National Campus in Orlando, the Eagles faced off against Southeastern University, the No. 4 ranked team in the NAIA. The matchup served as a final, rigorous test for Judson following a week of intensive competition under the Florida sun, including a gritty victory over Ave Maria earlier in the trip.

Against a formidable Fire lineup, the Eagles displayed significant resolve throughout the afternoon. In doubles play, the pairings of Florian Koppitsch and Brayden Kopp, along with Joshua Bavich and Brock Dawson, and Niel Hentrich and Javier Sanchez, all contended with the speed and precision of their nationally ranked opponents. While Southeastern managed to sweep the doubles point, the Eagles utilized the experience to sharpen their play heading into the singles rounds.

The intensity remained high as the match moved into singles on the world-class courts of the national facility. Despite the Fire's top-tier ranking, the Eagles refused to back down, finding competitive rhythms across several flights. Javier Sanchez and Joshua Bavich were involved in particularly tight contests, with Bavich capturing an early set lead in his match before play reached its conclusion.

Niel Hentrich also put forth a resilient effort at the bottom of the lineup, forcing long rallies and demonstrating the conditioning the team has developed over the course of the spring break tour. Although Southeastern ultimately secured the victory, the experience of competing against a top-five opponent at a venue like the USTA National Campus provided invaluable growth for the roster.

The Eagles will not have much time to rest as they transition back to their regular season schedule with another major test on the horizon. The team is set to travel to Winona Lake, Indiana, this coming Saturday, March 14, to take on Grace College. Currently ranked No. 17 in the nation, the Lancers represent yet another opportunity for Judson to measure themselves against a premier NAIA program.

Following a spring break trip defined by elite competition and personal growth, the Eagles will look to carry the momentum and high-level experience gained in Florida into this challenging weekend matchup as they continue to build toward the heart of their conference season.
