Milwaukee, WI - The Judson University men's tennis team earned its first victory of the fall season on Sunday, defeating Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) by a score of 5–2.
The Eagles came out strong in doubles, capturing two of the three matches to secure the opening point. After dropping a close decision at No. 1 doubles 5–7, Judson stormed back with dominant wins at No. 2, winning 6–1, and at No. 3 doubles winning 6–0, putting the team ahead 1–0 heading into singles play.
Judson carried that momentum into singles competition. Florian Koppitsch fought back for a 4–6, 6–3, 10–6 victory at No. 1, while Nicolas Donoso delivered a commanding 6–1, 6–1 win at No. 2.
At No. 3, Javier Sanchez showed resilience, rallying for a hard-fought 2–6, 6–2, 10–8 triumph. Julius Fortun sealed another point for the Eagles with a solid 6–2, 6–3 performance at No. 5 singles.
Those wins lifted Judson to a 5–2 overall result, marking the Eagles' first win of the fall season.
The team will return to action on Saturday, September 20, traveling to Indiana Wesleyan University for their next matchup.
