Eagles Set To Defend NCCAA Title
Elgin, IL – The Judson University men's soccer team will have the opportunity to defend its NCCAA national championship next month after being selected as an at-large bid for the 2025 NCCAA National Tournament, the association announced today.
Judson finished the regular season with a 7-8-5 record, reaching the conference tournament semifinals. Throughout the fall, the Eagles faced a demanding non-conference slate—one that demonstrated to the NCCAA committee that JU remains one of the nation's most competitive programs on any given day. As a result, Judson earned the No. 3 seed in the nine-team national field.
This year's tournament will be held December 1–6 at the Austin-Tindall Sports Complex in Kissimmee, Florida.
During the regular season, the Eagles went 2-2-0 against NCCAA opponents, picking up wins over Oakland City and Trinity Christian, with losses to Bethel and Campbellsville. Campbellsville also qualified for the national tournament as the No. 2 seed.
Judson will compete in two pool-play matches to open the tournament.
-
December 1 – vs. No. 7 Columbia International (Columbia, S.C.)
-
December 3 – vs. No. 4 Nelson University (Waxahachie, Texas)
Both matches are scheduled for approximately 7:30 p.m. EST.
The nine-team tournament is split into three pools. The three pool winners and one wild card team will advance to the semifinals on Friday, December 5, with the National Championship set for Saturday, December 6.
The Eagles enter the event as the defending NCCAA national champions, having captured the title last season in a thrilling postseason run. Judson men's soccer team has won seven NCCAA national championships in program history.
This season, Danail Mihaylov led the Eagles with 16 points and six goals, while Ivan Dominguez, a two-year starter in goal, tallied 75 saves and eight shutouts. Team captains Gabriel Uno and Wilondja Emena continue to anchor the squad's leadership.
All tournament matches will be streamed on the NCCAA Network, with full coverage available at https://thenccaa.org/tournaments/?id=4884&path=msoc, judsoneagles.com and on Judson Athletics social media channels.
