Elgin, IL - On Saturday afternoon, the Eagles had their regular season finale as they played host to Viterbo.
In a game that saw one red card in the first few minutes, and a handful of yellow cards, the match was not short on action. In a stunning turn of events, Viterbo lost their goalie just minutes into the game due to a red card. Still, the game remained scoreless heading into halftime.
Judson outshot Viterbo 4-1 in the first half, and in the second half both sides were able to get off five shots each.
But in the 63rd minute, Fernando Nkumah was able to find the back of the net for the first goal of the game. It was his fourth goal of the season, and assisted by Danail Mihaylov.
That goal would be enough to win it for the Eagles 1-0. With the win, Judson finished the regular season 6-7-5 overall, and 5-2-3 in conference play.
The Eagles will now turn toward the CCAC conference playoffs. JU will enter as the #5 seed and travel to Holy Cross on Wednesday night, who they just faced last week. That game was a 2-1 win in favor of Holy Cross. With a victory, JU will likely meet the #1 seed Olivet Nazarene Tigers in the semi-finals.
