Coakley Wins Third Event, Makes History
Lockport, IL - Eagles Golf is on some kind of run this spring on both the women's side, and the men's side. A few days after Ivy Burnett won the CCAC conference tournament, and picking up her third win of the year in the process, the men were at it with one final tune up before their conference tournament.
The men took part in the two day St. Xavier Invite held at the Old Oak Country Club. The course played to a par of 71, with a total yardage of 6,535 for both days.
For JU, they were led by standout sophomore Riley Coakley. He shot matching 74's to win the event by one shot. After day one he was in second place, and on day two, Coakley was able to make his move to the top spot.
The win is Coakley's third of the year. The three individual wins is a program best on the men's side. He is now one of three players to win three events in the school history joining Brighton Young, and Ivy Burnett who just did it as well this week.
The Eagles also saw great performances from Noah McKay and Parker Dallman. McKay had a 76-74 good for a t-3 finish. Dallman shot 77-78, good for a t-7 finish.
It is just an incredible run of golf for both JU teams. The men now turn to their CCAC Conference event. That will be a two-day event at the TPC Deere Run course next week.
