Coakley Bests The Field At Spring Invite
Dundee, IL - The Eagles men team hosted their spring invite on Monday. After a wet and wild week leading up to the tournament, the skies, cleared up enough to enable 129 golfers to tee it up and let it fly. In one of the biggest fields that the Judson Invite has seen, even in a steady breeze, the course allowed many birdies throughout the day.
The event took place at the Randall Oaks Golf Course, the Judson "home" course with a par of 71. The single round yardage played to a total of 6593 yards for the day.
As a team, Judson's "A" team took aim at the top and finished in second place with a score of 307, which was four strokes behind the winning team from Elmhurst.
But on the individual side, sophomore Riley Coakley was the low score for the day shooting a 72 and winning in a playoff. The victory is Coakley's second of the season. He also won a fall tournament as well. The lefty from Carpentersville, Illinois birdied the 18th hole to reach the playoff, and ultimately win the event.
