Eagles Strong In Season Opener
Rockford, IL - This past weekend the Judson Eagles kicked off the season at the Golden Eagle Invite in Rockford, IL.
On the Men's Varsity side they were able to finish in 16th place. This being the first event of the season for this young team a top 20 finish is a great way to start! Led by Sophomore Woodley Dangerfield who had high games of 245 and 255 and averaged 208 for the weekend. Woodley was also 88% on single pins and 77% on multipins and struck 43% of the time on the weekend.
Freshman standout Carson Reid made his Eagle debut and was super solid on single pins going 95% as well as 75% on multipins while striking 43% of the time! Senior Eric Roberts was solid as always across the board going 83% on single pins and 88% on multipins while striking 45% on the time on the weekend!
Freshman Standout Jeremy Gasca was also very solid going 85% on single pins, while freshman Brayland Carpenter was perfect going 100% on single pins on the weekend! Sophomore Noah Moreno came off the bench in game 5 for a nice 195 game and was a solid 80% on single pins and 75% on multipins on the weekend.
This team did a tremendous job on shooting spares this weekend which is the solid foundation we need as we grow throughout this season! Bright things ahead for this squad!
On the Men's JV1 side they were able to come away with a 8th place finish. This team was led in average by Freshman Standout Kadin Horton who averaged 175 on the weekend and he struck almost 41% of the time on the weekend. Senior Adan Cabezudo was stellar on single pins at 90% on the weekend. Senior Parker Morris averaged 174 on the weekend and struck 41% of the time.
Sophomore Jeremy Martinez starting amazingly with games of 199 and 236 until he injured his knee in game 3, he struck 45% of the time on the weekend. Sophomore Toby Wamsley went 80% in single pins and 64% on multipins on the weekend and freshman De'Vyn Franklin struck almost 37% on the weekend.
A top 10 finish from this team is a solid way to start the season and bodes well for what is ahead!
On the Men's JV2 side they were able to come away with an 10th place finish. This team came out of the gate hot shooting a big 1020 game but then ran into some transitions issues but was able to grind through to maintain a top 10 finish. This team was led by Freshman standout Matt Fishman as he went 84% on single pins and 58% on multipins and had a big 224 game to start the season.
Senior Connor Richmond started the season with a 223 game and was 75% on single pins and struck almost 36% f the time. Sophomore Aiden Schwichow was 78% on single pins and 63% on multipins while Freshman Standout Kaelexx Oats had a solid start to his Eagle Career going 78% on single pins and striking almost 42% of the time on the weekend.
Freshman Standout Zach Poling had a nice 201 to start the season and struck almost 36% of the time.
Next weekend the Varsity team heads to Detroit, Michigan for the Midwest Collegiate Classic event.
