Elgin, IL — Judson men's basketball earned a strong home victory on Wednesday night, defeating Viterbo 84–75 at the Lindner Fitness Center behind an efficient offensive performance and balanced scoring.
The Eagles jumped out to an early lead and carried a 42–36 advantage into halftime, shooting nearly 60 percent from the field in the opening period. Judson maintained control in the second half, matching Viterbo's scoring with a steady offensive rhythm to secure the nine-point win.
Hunter Duncan led all scorers with 24 points, adding 5 assists and 7 rebounds in an all-around performance. EJ Reese was dominant in the paint, posting 24 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 blocks, while shooting 10-of-13 from the floor.
Bronson Bartuch added 13 points, knocking down 3-of-5 from beyond the arc, and Zack Patterson chipped in 7 points and 2 steals.
Judson shot 57.4% from the field and 43.5% from three-point range, moving the ball well with 15 assists and generating key scoring runs in the second half to keep Viterbo at bay.
The win gives Judson's momentum heading into a home contest on Saturday afternoon as it will also be alumni day on campus. The Eagles continue conference play against Calumet with the final three games on deck for JU.
