Eagles Net First Win Of Season
Elgin, IL - In a game that had very few stoppages, Saturday afternoon was fast-paced and quick day at the office for the Eagles. But the quick moving game meant more time for celebration as Judson was able to secure their first victory of the season over East-West University 84-66.
For the game, Judson shot a touch over 50% from the field going 32-63. Going hand in hand, JU played team basketball with 23 assists on the 32 made baskets.
Hunter Duncan led the Eagles once again as the floor general. Duncan did it all for his team with 23 points, 8 steals, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds in the win. Many of those steals led to quick layups and dunks on the other end of the floor for the talented guard.
Coming off of the bench, Fernando Perez Jr. had 18 points and 7 rebounds. Dorien Little added 8 points and three assists for his team.
Judson led at the half 41-29 led by strong defense. The Eagles outrebounded East-West 41-33 on the day.
With just about everyone getting into the game for JU, it was a full team effort as the starters accounted for 44 points, and the bench accounting for 40 points in the win.
The win is also the first career head coaching victory for Head Coach Rick Williams. With playing solid team ball, there will certainly be more wins on the horizon.
Judson's next three games are on the road, and they get a full week off before they head to Michigan for back to back games at Kuyper and Grace Christian.
