Joliet, IL - On Wednesday afternoon the Eagles had the honor of playing in the opening game of the CCAC Conference tournament. As the number 4 seed, JU took on St. Francis in the opening round.
Judson wasted no time in getting on the scoreboard with a run in the bottom of the first inning.
In the third inning, Kevin Flores continued his impressive year at the plate by hitting a three-run home run to make it 4-0. The Eagles continued to pour it on with a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning, and a three-run triple by Matt Armstrong in the fifth inning.
The final blast also came in the fifth inning with a two-run home run by Ryan Pitzer to make it 10-0 in favor of the Eagles.
The 10-0 score would be the final as Owen Wanner went all seven innings for the win. Wanner limited St. Francis to no runs on just five hits. It was his seventh win of the season.
With the win, Judson now advances to the winner's bracket to take on the #1 seed St. Ambrose on Thursday. For the year, Judson is now 32-19 on the season.
