Eagles Sweep Saturday Double Header
Elgin, IL - On another challenging field conditions day, the Eagles took care of business in dominant fashion on Saturday out at Hoffer Field, sweeping a doubleheader over St. Francis.
Judson opened the day with a gritty 5–4 win in Game 1. After falling behind 3–0 early, the Eagles responded quickly, highlighted by a two-run homer from Allan Navarro to get back in it.
Judson chipped away with runs in the second, fourth, and fifth innings, taking the lead for good on an RBI double from Alex Wickett. In the later innings, the Saints had the tying run on base multiple times, only to be denied by the Eagles pitching staff.
On the mound, Jacob Skinner delivered a strong outing, going seven innings and allowing just one earned run, while Taylor Siekierski locked down the final two innings for the save.
In Game 2, the Eagles jumped on St. Francis early and never looked back, cruising to a 5–1 victory. A four-run first inning set the tone, with Navarro, Wickett, and Yasiel Trinidad all driving in runs.
Wickett finished with two RBIs, while Trinidad added a pair of his own in a balanced offensive effort.
Daniel Alworth was in control on the mound, tossing a complete game and allowing just one run on five hits.
With the sweep, Judson improves to 25-11 overall and 13-5 in conference play, continuing to build momentum as the season rolls on. JU continues to pace the top of the CCAC standings as the Eagles are in the middle part of their conference schedule.
