Eagles Complete 4-0 Weekend
The Judson University Eagles completed a dominant doubleheader sweep over University of Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday in Wheaton, taking game one 9–4 before rolling to an 8–3 victory in the nightcap. This was in addition to a Friday night sweep of Wheaton College.
Game One – Judson 9, Michigan-Dearborn 4
Judson (5-2) wasted no time setting the tone, exploding for four runs in the opening inning. An RBI triple from Alijah Acevedo highlighted the frame, while Blake Stempowski added a sacrifice fly as the Eagles quickly built a 4-0 advantage.
The Eagles tacked on two more in the third behind RBI singles from Stempowski and Ben Wisniewski to stretch the lead to 6-0. Michigan-Dearborn answered with three runs in the fourth and another in the fifth to trim the margin to 6-4, but Judson responded immediately.
Matt Armstrong delivered an RBI double in the fifth and later scored on a wild pitch, and Allen Navarro added an RBI groundout in the sixth to provide insurance.
Acevedo earned the win on the mound, striking out eight over four innings of work, while Taylor Siekiersk closed the door with three solid innings of relief. Offensively, the Eagles tallied nine hits and drew seven walks in a balanced attack.
Game Two – Judson 8, Michigan-Dearborn 3
The Eagles carried the momentum into game two, jumping out to a three-run first inning. Triples from Yasiel Trinidad, Kevin Flores, and Allen Navarro sparked the early surge, and Alijah Acevedo followed with an RBI single to make it 3-1 after one.
The big blow came in the third when Matt Armstrong launched a three-run home run to left, extending the lead to 6-2. Judson added single runs in the fourth and sixth to seal the sweep.
Alex Wickett led the offense with three hits and two runs scored, while Navarro collected three hits and two RBIs. Armstrong finished with three RBIs in the nightcap after driving in one in the opener.
On the mound, Nate Ross picked up the win in game two, with Devin Schular and Jacob Skinner combining to limit Michigan-Dearborn to just one run over the final four innings.
With the sweep, the Eagles improve to 6-2 on the season and continue to build momentum early in the 2026 campaign.
