Judson women's tennis team travelled to Quincy University this past weekend to compete in an individual invitational. The invitational consisted of mostly NCAA Div 2 tennis programs, so the competition was strong. Our Lady Eagles played extremely well and everyone saw some wins individually in singles and doubles throughout the 2 days of competition. Emmie Chan, No. 1 singles placed 5th overall by defeating the No. 1 singles player from Truman State in her final match. Nyssa Fetzner, No. 2 singles placed 7th overall after competing against some tough competition throughout the day. Marcilyn Rowan, No 3 single placed 7th overall also. Marcilyn faced some tough matches that were close, but played well. Lauren Saiki, No 4 singles placed 6th overall. We definitely saw Lauren battle through some tough matches and came back from being down in a match to victory. Abby Jungles, No 5 singles was our highest placed athlete with a 4th place overall. Abby came ready to play and played some tough matches to earn her final place. Leanna Krueger, No. 6 singles placed 7th overall and had some tough matches, but played well throughout the entire day. All 3 of our doubles teams placed 6th overall in their respective doubles spots. No. 1 doubles was Chan / Saiki, No. 2 doubles was Rowan / Fetzner and No. 3 doubles was Jungles / Krueger.
The Judson Men's & Women's tennis team open their home season on Tuesday against Bethel College at the Judson University tennis courts at 3:00pm. Come and cheer on your Eagles!
Coach Moment signs another player to the ladies tennis team at Judson Univeristy. Leanna Krueger comes to Judson with an extensive tennis history and competitive playing from Michigan. She played three years at North Pointe Christian and was a proven leader and value to their ladies team. We look forward to her joining the team in the Fall and expect to see her make an immediate impact on the court.
The Judson women's tennis team had their post season play end today with a loss to St. Francis. With the weather outlook looking bad and a continually changing time and location for the match today, Judson had to travel to Plainfield to battle against one of the top ladies teams in the CCAC conference this year. The Lady Eagles suffered 3 losses in doubles, but they played some of the best tennis they have played all year. The singles started and they soon found themselves down 5-0 in the match, which ended their post season play. All matches were played out and everyone fought hard to the end, despite the match already being officially won by St. Francis.
