Jeron Shelton enters his sixth season on Jim Cook's coaching staff. Shelton started on staff with Cook as a student assistant in the 2004-05 season with the men's basketball teams and then pulled double duty helping the women's program since the 2005-06 season. He graduated in 2007 from Judson with an elementary education degree and now coaches a local junior high girl's basketball team.
Shelton transferred to Judson after receiving his associate's degree in paralegal studies from Rockford Business College. He graduated from Judson with an Elementary Education degree with an emphasis in English in May 2007.
He is a graduate of Auburn High School in Rockford and has coached youth basketball and directed athletic programs through the Rockford Elementary Basketball Association and the YMCA over the past four years. He led two of his teams to the final four in the conference, earning third and fourth place, respectively. He enjoys reading books, playing pool, chess, spades, euchre and doing anything related to basketball.
Shelton was recently married on May 23, 2008, to Sheila Rodriguez and they reside in Elgin. He also currently coaches the Larson Middle School 8th grade 'A' team for both boys and girls.
