Becoming an assistant coach for the first time after playing four years of collegiate volleyball, Beam enters her first year helping Jill Pearce. Beam lettered three years at Indiana Wesleyan and helped her team to numerous post-season wins. She also played one year at Cornerstone University.

In four years at Indiana Wesleyan, the Panthers made the NAIA National Tournament, twice, and were the NCCAA National runners-up in 2007. Her team also won two conference championships and one NAIA Regional Championship. In the 2006 season, they finished fifth in the nation at the NAIA National Tournament.

Playing her high school volleyball at West Ottawa (IL), she was a three-year letter winner and a two-time captain of her team. She also earned All-Conference and All-Area twice along with being voted the Iron Women award winner in her junior year and team MVP her senior year.

She is a 2009 graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University with a degree in exercise science. She is engaged to Joshua Liggins and they are to be married in July 2010.
