Graduated from Praire Ridge High School in 2008…Northwest Herald Player of the Year in 2008…co-Player with teammate Ben Palmer for Daily Herald...voted onto Fox Valley All-Conference and All-Area three years in a row…named All-Fox Valley first-team in 2007 as a designated hitter and …team won Illinois State Championship in 2008…had a 10-1 record and 1.74 ERA in 2008 with 67 strikeouts in 80.1 innings pitched…in junior year went 3-2 with 1.10 ERA while hitting .420…in 2006 posted an 8-3 record with a 1.04 ERA and 52 strikeouts.

Played Fall ball for the Los Angeles Dodgers in September 2007…Played for the McHenry County Hurricanes from 2005-07…had a record of 25-3 and a 1.08 ERA.
