New Program Started
Bringing back men's and women's tennis after a 10 year absence, head coach and Judson alumnus Art Steuber took on the task of restarting both the men's and women's tennis programs. He had nine men players and eight women players for the 2009-10 season.

Steuber is no stranger to Judson tennis as he is the most notable athlete for the sport. In January 2010, he was inducted as the first men's tennis player into the Judson University Athletic Hall of Fame. He was Judson's Male Athlete of the Year in 1991-92. He also was twice named the NIIC Player of the Year and All-NIIC while being a four-year letter winner and most valuable player for the Eagles. In his senior year, he was the NCCAA District Player of the Year along with being named to the NCCAA and NAIA All-District teams and received his second NIIC Player of the Year award.

Men's Team Reaches 5 Wins
The men's tennis team recorded five wins in their first season with two coming in the first three matches of the year. Judson won their first match of the year, 6-3, over Calumet College on September 16th. Eight days later, they won their second match, 6-3, over NCAA Division III Dominican University. The other three wins came in the spring against Elgin Community College (5-4), McHenry County College (6-3), and Calumet College (6-3).
women's team builds foundation

Competing hard in their first season, the women's team did not reach a win but laid a foundation for the second year. The women were in several matches and almost picked up two wins. Two close matches that came down to one point were 5-4 losses to Dominican University and Mount Mary College.

NCCAA Player of the Week
Playing only three matches in the spring, Mario Cutuli received the NCCAA National Player of the Week award for the men's team. Cutuli won two of Judson's three points in a 6-3 loss to Knox College. He took the #5 singles match, 7-5, 6-3, over Ransom Tilford and then teamed up with Jesse Perez to win the #2 doubles match, 8-6, over David Ham and Brian Leddy. Judson then fell to Augustana (IL), 9-0.
