Record Season For Eagles
The Judson University softball team had another stellar season as they won 20 or more games for the second year in a row and broke the season record for wins at 25. Judson went 25-26 on the year and finished with an 11-7 record in the CCAC. The back-to-back 20 win seasons is a first since the 2002 (23) and 2003 (22) seasons.

Big Wins
Judson came up with some big wins in the 2009 season. For the first time, ever, Judson defeated Olivet Nazarene not only once but twice in one season. Judson picked up its first program win on March 26th, 7-3, and then won in the loser's bracket of the CCAC Tournament, 5-3, to advance to the quarterfinals. Judson also split their CCAC series with Robert Morris and St. Xavier. Both teams were receiving votes in the NAIA National Poll at the time of the game and played for the CCAC Tournament Championship.

Single Season Records Fall
With their continued success, the softball team broke numerous single season records. Four player records were broken and six team records were changed. In the player records, sophomore Carrie Sensor broke two records in runs scored (54) and at bats (171). Junior Lizzy Jacobson tied the record for RBI at 47 which was set last season by sophomore Nicole Dimiceli. Freshman pitcher Virginia McAndrews then finished off the records by recording 122 strikeouts from the mound surpassing Jill Jeter's record of 121 set in 2007.

On the team front, Judson rewrote six records as they re-broke four records that were set last season. Breaking records from the 2008 season are program wins, most hits, most runs, and RBI. Judson won 25 games for a new program record surpassing the 24 set in 2008. They smashed the 2008 hits record (398) with 416 hits and the most runs (248) record with 278. Finishing off the 2008 record of 211 RBI, Judson produced 236 RBI in 2009. Judson also broke the most walks by six with 118 and doubles in a season at 61.

Jacobson Breaks Career Records
Junior Lizzy Jacobson continued her climb up the records chart as she now owns three career records. She passed up Laura Olson's 86 RBI with 97 RBI and then beat Debra Leganski's record for home runs by one with 19. The last record she owns is for walks with 49 as surpassed Jessie Peterson's 39.

CCAC Awards
Judson did well on the CCAC front for awards as three players were named All-CCAC first-team with a CCAC "freshman pitcher of the year" award. Sophomore's Nicole Dimiceli and Carrie Sensor and freshman Virginia McAndrews were all named to the first-team. McAndrews was then voted the CCAC "Freshman Pitcher of the Year" for her performance. It is the second year in a row that Judson had a freshman player of the year as Dimiceli was given the player of the year award in 2008. Both Dimiceli and Sensor were also voted onto the All-CCAC Tournament team, too. McAndrews was the lone player to be named a CCAC "Player of the Week" as she earned it twice.

NCCAA Awards
Claiming four players on the NCCAA North Central All-Region team and one All-American, Judson University was well represented for the NCCAA. Nicole Dimiceli, Carrie Sensor, Virginia McAndrews, and Victoria Perez were all named to the NCCAA All-Region first-team.

Gaining the NCCAA All-American status for the second year in a row was Dimiceli. She is the only player from Judson to receive the award for her play.

Getting national attention as "Player of the Week" were Lizzy Jacobson and Virginia McAndrews. Each player won the award once.

Making the NCCAA scholar-athlete team were Jacobson and Tricia Lakotish. It was the second year for Lakotish earning the award.

NFCA Award
For the second year in a row, a Judson player was named to the National Fastpitch Collegiate Association team. Carrie Sensor was voted onto the All-Region first-team as an at-large selection. Last year, Nicole Dimiceli was on the same team.
