NAIA Record - Steve Burke
Coaching Judson in his 25th season, head coach Steve Burke became the NAIA all-time wins leader on October 4, 2008, with a 1-0 win over Trinity International. That win was his 438th career win to surpass Rockhurst University's Tony Tocco's 437 career wins. Burke finished the season with 446 career wins.
 
NAIA Wins Record

After the 2008 season, Judson is the all-time winningest program for NAIA in men's soccer. They surpassed Westmont College who finished the season with 12 wins. Coming into the 2008 season, Westmont had 552 wins while Judson had 551. Judson won 15 games this season to surpass Westmont and become the all-time winningest program.

CCAC Dynasty (x5)
Judson made CCAC history again by claiming their fifth straight CCAC Tournament Championship. It took being the underdog but Judson played the role as they knocked off #1 seed Illinois Tech, 3-1. The win for Judson stopped Illinois Tech's 10-match winning streak and was also their first loss to a CCAC team this year.
 
The combination of a great defensive effort in goal and a strong offensive front by Judson led to the win. Alex Tyton (Elgin, IL) stopped a career-high 12 shots for the win as he collected eight saves in the second half. Judson also took 11 shots with nine on goal. Adauto Oliveira, Gustavo Oliveira, and Leonardo Silva all scored the goals for Judson. The win also gave Judson an automatic berth into the NAIA National Tournament, which would be their fifth straight appearance.
 
NAIA National Tournament (X5)

For the fifth year in a row, Judson University advanced to the NAIA National Tournament. In a new format by the NAIA, Judson played in the first-round game at Notre Dame College (Ohio). Notre Dame was ranked #2 in the nation and had the #7 seed in the tournament as Judson was unseeded. In a cold contest in Ohio, Judson fell to Notre Dame, 6-1, as Gustavo Oliveria had the lone goal.

Senior Class
There were five seniors that left the program after the 2008 season in Vitor Bravo, Milos Bajic, Petar Bajic, Leonardo Silva, and Adauto Oliveira. Bravo was the lone senior that was a part of the program for four years and won four CCAC Tournament Championships, three CCAC regular season championships, and went to four NAIA National Tournaments. Milos Bajic played for Judson for three years while Silva, Petar Bajic, and Oliveira all had two years at Judson.
 
NAIA All-Americans

Gustavo Oliveira was the only Judson University player to be named NAIA All-American but it was the fifth year in a row that somebody from Judson had been named an all-American. For the second year in a row, junior Gustavo Oliveira (Brazil) has been named a NAIA All-American. Oliveira picks up his second NAIA All-American honorable mention award in his second year at Judson and was one of four CCAC players named NAIA All-American.

Oliveira led Judson with nine goals, 21 assists, and 39 points while providing a career-high six assists against Cincinnati Christian. His 21 assists put him tied for seventh in a single season at Judson with Rob Eastland (2000), and Marcus Lauria (2001). In his career, he now has 34 assists and 19 goals. He just needs six assists to break into the Judson top 10 for all-time assists.

NCCAA All-Americans
Being named Judson's lone NCCAA All-American, Gustavo Oliveria gained his second all-American award of the year. This was his first NCCAA All-American award and his third overall at Judson.
 
NCCAA All-region

Placing four players on the NCCAA North Central All-Region team, three players earned the award for the first time in sophomore Alex Tyton and seniors Adauto Oliveira and Leonardo Silva. Gustavo Oliveira was a repeat selection from the year before.

NCCAA National Ranking
For the second year in a row, Judson finished ranked #5 in the final NCCAA National Poll. They did not participate in the NCCAA National Tournament because of making the NAIA National Tournament. They finished with a 15-6 record.
 
NCCAA National Player of the Week

Three players earned the NCCAA National Player of the Week in Alex Tyton, Leonardo Silva, and Petar Bajic. Bajic was the first to earn it in the week of September 2nd. Tyton then won on November 6th followed by Silva on November 13th.

NAIA National Ranking
Judson finished the season receiving votes in the national poll and was the highest rated CCAC program. After pulling the upset of CCAC foe Illinois Tech in the CCAC Tournament, Judson surpassed the Scarlet Hawks in the poll and had finished with 29 overall votes.
 
CCAC Awards
Continuing their dominance in the CCAC, Judson had four players earn All-CCAC with three being first-team. Vitor Bravo, Gustavo Oliveira, and Alex Tyton were named All-CCAC first-team while senior Milos Bajic was named to the second team. It was the second year in a row that Bravo and Oliveira were named all-CCAC. It was also the second time, overall, for Tyton and Bajic to be named to the all-CCAC team.
 
CCAC Players of the Week
Once again showing their talent, Judson had seven different players win the CCAC Player of the Week 11 times. Alex Tyton four defensive player of the week awards and Leonardo Silva took the offensive player of the week, twice. Claiming the offensive player of the week, once, were Gustavo Oliveira, Petar Bajic, Adauto Oliveira, and Jason Parmentor. Winning the defensive player of the week was Cristiano Costa. Judson had the most players selected in the season for players of the week.
 
Oliveira Leads Judson

Gustavo Oliveira was the offensive weapon for Judson in 2008 as he led in every category. He finished the season with nine goals, 21 assists, and 39 points. Against Cincinnati Christian, he scored eight points with six assists and one goal for a career-high.

In the CCAC
In the statistical categories, Judson had at least four players in the top 20 for offense. Overall as a team, Judson finished second in goals (2.10 pg) and asissts (2.67 pg) and was third in goals allowed per game (1.19).
 

Individually, Gustavo Oliveira finished second overall in the CCAC in points (39) and assists (21). He was also sixth in goals (9).

In the CCAC for points, Judson had three other players in the top 20 in Audauto Oliveira at ninth (22), Milos Bajic in 11th (15), and Tom Kruse in 17th (13). When it came to goals, Judson also placed four players in the top 20 with Gustavo Oliveira leading the way in sixth. Milos Bajic was 10th (6), Leonardo Silva was 12th (7), and Audauto Oliveira was 14th (7). For assists, five players placed with Gustavo Oliveira in second. Following him was Adauto Oliveira in fourth (0.38), Vitor Bravo in fifth (0.35), Tom Kruse in sixth (0.29), and Milos Bajic in 14th (0.19).

In the NAIA
Gustavo Oliveira was the only Judson player in the NAIA national standings. He finished third in assists (1.05) and was 29th in goals.
