MY PERSONALCHALLENGE
June 1 - 6, 2009
Already, I have been told I'm crazy. It's too dangerous. You don't know what you are getting into. Why are you doing it anyway?
I guess I can sum up my answers like this: because it is 1) a great personal challenge, 2) it's for a worthy cause and 3) to encourage others, especially the 50+ youngsters!
What is it that I am doing that has caused these questions to be asked? I am going to ride my bike over 350 miles from Elgin, Illinois, to St. Louis, Missouri, from June 1-6, 2009. Mind you, I am not a bike enthusiast. Unfortunately, I no longer can run because of a knee condition otherwise I might tackle running it! I bike for exercise and to get around the Cross Country course.
Over the next few months, I will be expounding more about my three answers. During the venture, I will also try to give you daily updates so that you may trek along with me.
For now, I covet your prayers as I prepare, which will be a challenge all by itself!! I covet your financial support which 100% will go toward the Judson University Cross Country and Track Club programs. A goal of $5,000 has been set. Again, more will be said how this support will directly benefit our athletes. And finally, I covet your encouragement. Feel free to email me at rweinhandl@judsonu.edu.
Thank you, and God Bless you all.
