DAN WESTLUND '82
A member of Judson’s cross country program from 1978-82, Dan Westlundis one of the best runners to ever go through the program. He was the team’s leading runner all four seasons and was a big part of the team’s success during his senior year when the team finished second in conference. Individually as a sophomore and a junior, Westlund competed at the NAIA National Tournament after being named to the NAIA All-District team all four years and being the NAIA District champion as a junior. He was named NIIC All-Conference and team Most Valuable Runner all four seasons, and was named Judson’s Male Athlete of the Year during his senior year. He won the conference meet as a junior. Westlund was named an NCCAA All-American as a freshman and a junior. Despite Judson not sponsoring a track and field team, Westlund entered the NIIC Track and Field meet in his junior year and finished in first place in the mile event with an impressive 4:10 finish.
