GOLF PHILOSOPHY
"One of the most fascinating things about golf is how it reflects the cycle of life. No matter what you shoot - the next day you have to go back to the first tee and begin all over again and make yourself into something."
- Peter Jacobsen
At Judson University we try to teach these principles and help student athletes apply them to all aspects of life, not just golf. We have been around the game long enough to know that every player, regardless of talent level, has to have a career outside of golf. We focus hard on teaching the proper tools necessary to be a successful, not just at golf, but in life as well.
ACADEMIC SUCCESS
Judson University prides itself on a high graduation rate. Judson University has one of the finest undergraduate liberal arts programs in the nation. The scope of each student-athlete's education is broadened through their interaction with a wide variety of academic disciplines combined with athletics. A Judson education along with the competition of athletics provides a learning environment that fosters critical thinking and communication skills student-athletes will use for a lifetime in every athletic, personal, academic, and professional pursuit. The small class sizes at Judson University allow each student to connect with their professors. The professors are here to work overtime to make sure that you succeed. The University also provides free tutoring through the Academic Learning Center. There is quality leadership at the learning center that will allow each student-athlete to meet their personal needs and goals.
FALL SEASON
The fall program starts for Judson Golf two weeks prior to the start of classes. These two weeks allows for specific individualized instruction, physical conditioning, and practice that include rounds at the Elgin Highlands home course. The first two weeks of the season enables the coach to evaluate the players, improve basic fundamentals, and to introduce the players to the Judson University Golf. The season will consist of a variety of 18-hole tournaments paired with 9 and 18-hole weekly matches with local colleges and universities. The season starts the first week of September and concludes the third week of October with the NCCAA fall national tournament.
WINTER PROGRAM
Athletic development is the focus of our winter program (i.e., weight training, flexibility training, power development, and mental training). We will also have access to an indoor facility where the athlete can continue to improve on their swing. The winter months are less time demanding than the fall and the spring seasons, but special emphasis is placed on developing the whole athlete physically and mentally. The winter phase of our program is where our athletes separate themselves from others in the conference. We will work harder than any of our competition.
SPRING SCHEDULE
The spring season will start in late March with a golf trip during spring break week. This week will consist of matches played against a variety of schools from across the nation. After returning home, the remainder of the season will be spent playing a variety of 18-hole tournaments paired with 9 and 18-hole weekly matches with local schools. The NAIA national tournament in May will complete the season.
JUDSON EAGLES FACILITIES
Judson has a great home course in Elgin's newly re-constructed
Highlands Course. Designed by Keith Foster, the Highlands provide a very challenging yet rewarding round of golf. The Highlands also has a wonderful practice facility that provides bent grass tee area, high quality mats for wet play, quality practice balls, 6 target greens, short game areas for chipping and bunker play, and a 9000 square foot putting green.

I will do everything in my power to help you become the best player you can be. I am always approachable and honest with each person involved in the program. If you have any questions or interest in Judson University Golf, please do not hesitate to call.
"No-one will ever have golf under his thumb. No round ever will be so good it could not have been better. Perhaps this is why golf is the greatest of games. You are not playing a human adversary; you are playing a game. You are playing old man par."
- Bobby Jones
