Freshman, Jeremy Winnan, has played baseball since the second grade, claiming there's really no rhyme or reason to his love of the game. The thrill he feels every time he steps on the field is a clear indication that he made the right choice: "When I walk out on the field I just get so excited," he says.

Other sports that has crossed Winnan's path are basketball, soccer and cross country. "I wanted to fit in [during] grade school. My friends all played sports so I started playing. I just got hooked on baseball," Winnan recounts. That love has carried over, leading him here to Judson as he plays for Coach Benjamin.

In this season of baseball, Jeremy states that he must continue to work hard and compete the same way he always has. A personal goal for the season is for the Judson University team to go to Nationals, an endeavor he claims he will help accomplish in any way he can.

One of the things Jeremy Winnan loves most is the support his family shows him in his pursuit of baseball. His parents prove to be his biggest role models: "They had four kids and the raised them right, and they still find time to come to most of our games," he tells. His parents' dedication will undoubtedly continue on throughout his collegiate career in baseball.

Stating there are too many good times to recount at Judson, he mentions that in his free time, he and his friends enjoy doing just about anything random and fun. In regards to his ultimate reason for choosing Judson, he comments, "I just felt like I should come here. I got a scholarship to play baseball so [that] helped with paying for college while getting to play baseball." Additionally, in the academic and social element, he says, "I like the smaller class sizes. I thought it would be a little easier to make friends here as well."

Although the initial adjustment to college was difficult, Jeremy is now well into his second semester at college and training even harder for the upcoming baseball season. He has learned the importance of time management in college and will make even more academic, social and athletic strides as March quickly approaches.
