Gassman serves as both the head baseball coach and the Athletic Director after coming from the University of Pikeville (Ky.). He had been the head baseball coach for three seasons. He has been able to consistently improve his teams each year with his final season at Pikeville ending in the semi-finals of the conference tournament.

Gassman also coaches in the Cape Cod Baseball League, a premier amateur baseball league in the New England area. He started as the Hyannis Harbor Hawks pitching coach in 2008. He would then go on to become head coach the following year and win Coach of the Year in 2011. As head coach he has won three Western Division titles and coached Judson Alumni and MLB draft pick ambidextrous pitcher Ryan Perez.

His long list of baseball experience also includes a head coaching stint at Waldorf College. Before coaching at Pikeville, Gassman coached at Waldorf from 2006-2011. In his time there, each team reached the conference tournament and in 2011 the program recorded its first .500 season in school history as a four-year institution. While at Waldorf, Gassman also served as Interim Athletic Director and Assistant Athletic Director while coaching.

Gassman got his start playing baseball at Morehead State University (Ky.) in which he graduated from in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. Gassman then went on to complete his Master's degree at Olivet Nazarene University as a graduate assistant baseball coach and later as an assistant baseball coach from 2000-2004. During his time at Olivet they won two conference championships in 2001 and 2003, made two NAIA World Series appearances in 2002 and 2003, and were consistently ranked in the top 20 nationally for the NAIA.  Gassman is no stranger to the CCAC and brings valuable experience in continuing success of the Judson baseball program.
