Certified Athletic Trainer:
Certified athletic trainers are health care professionals who specialize in preventing, recognizing, assessing, treating, and rehabilitating injuries and illnesses. Certified athletic trainers are also professional rescuers that are qualified to treat emergency care situations. As a part of a sports medicine team, the certified athletic trainer works under the direction of a licensed physician, and in cooperation with other health care professionals, athletics administrators, and coaches.
