Jim Cook has become a strong presence in the CCAC as he enters his fifth year being the women's basketball head coach at Judson. The 2009-10 season will only be his second year fully devoted to the women's basketball program after coaching both the Judson men and women's programs together from 2005 to 2008 (3 seasons).

Returning to their winning ways, the 2008-09 season brought 18 wins and a second place finish in the CCAC. That season brought the programs first win over NCAA Division III Wheaton College along with Alicia Rovertoni repeating as the CCAC rebounding champion.

Cook became the eighth head coach for the women's program in 2005 when he replaced long-time head coach Tory Gum who stepped down after 15 seasons and five NAIA National Tournament appearances. In four seasons, Cook has won 52 games and is second all-time in wins at Judson behind Gum's 268 wins.

Taking over the program in 2005, Cook's team went 21-11 and went to the program's sixth NAIA National Tournament while winning its third CCAC Tournament. The milestones were the first for Cook as a head coach but were nothing new to him as he was an assistant coach on Gum's staff when Judson finished in the Sweet 16 in the 2001-02 season. The 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons were rebuilding seasons for Judson before Cook guided Judson to 18 wins in the 2008-09 season.

Cook is no stranger to the Judson women's basketball program as he was an assistant for three seasons under Gum before becoming the head coach. He was a part of the staff when the team finished in the Sweet 16 at the NAIA National Tournament in 2002.

Prior to just coaching the women's program, Cook coached both the men and the women's programs from 2005 to 2008. In those three seasons, he took both teams to the NAIA National Tournament and won a CCAC Championship. His men's team in 2007-08 went 19-9 and won the program's first, ever, CCAC regular season and tournament championship for Judson. That same team then qualified for the NAIA Division II National Tournament for the first-time, ever, too. In 2005-06, he coached both the men's and women's teams to 20-win seasons as each team played for the CCAC Tournament Championship. It was the first-time, ever, that both programs won 20 games and played for the CCAC Tournament Championship in the same year.

Cook is the founder, director and coach of Team USA, an AAU organization. During his tenure in U46, he had various coaching experiences including Head Boy's Basketball Coach at Canton Middle School and Assistant Varsity Girl's Basketball Coach at Larkin High School.

Playing collegiately at both Shasta Community College in California and Carroll College in Montana, he earned his bachelor's degree in Applied Behavioral Sciences from National Louis University in 2002 and a Masters of Sports Management from Nova Southeastern University in 2004.
