Chosen as the new head coach to charter one of the newest athletic programs at Judson University is Chris Watson. The 2001 Judson University graduate has a passion for golf and is an avid golfer in the Chicagoland area.

"I started playing golf at the age of 12," comments Watson. "I learned a lot of my game while working at the Aurora Country Club. I received lessons and tips from the local pro and the chance to caddy in the professional tournaments such as the Western Open and Ameritech Senior Open which were both PGA events. I think watching the work ethic of the professionals is what really got me hooked on the game of golf."

While at Judson, he was a two-sport athlete playing men's soccer and baseball as a four-year letterman in baseball and one in soccer. He holds two Judson baseball records that include most triples in a season (5) and most home runs in a game (2). He is also second in home runs in a single season with seven, sixth all-time in career triples (6), and 11th in career at-bats (306). In pitching, he is sixth all-time in wins (12) and innings pitched (166.9).

"Chris Watson is an alumnus that has continued to support Judson athletics since the day he graduated," adds Judson Director of Athletics Nancy Binger. "That combined with his experience as a Judson athlete and his excellent golf skills formulates a great fit to add to our staff. I am excited to see how Chris uses his skills to build an outstanding golf program."

Watson golfed for four years at Aurora Christian High School where he was also played baseball, basketball, and soccer. Watson still works on his golf game today and has a top notch game with a 73 as his best round.

He has been married to his wife, Meghan (Judson '00), for seven years and they have a daughter, Georgia, who is one-year old.
