ELGIN, Ill. - Earning her first academic award, junior Kiley Helgerson (Inverness, IL/Jacobs HS) was named a NAIA and NCCAA Scholar-Athlete. She is the first volleyball player in three years to earn the award.
Helgerson is in her second year as a player for Judson University. This year she played in 49 games and had a season-high 10 kills vs. Purdue-North Central.
To earn the NAIA award the athlete has to be nominated by the head coach and the student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. They must also be a junior academically.
For NCCAA scholar-athlete status, you need to have a 3.3 grade point average or higher.
