Judson 2, Covenant 1

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Ashley Williams (Lake in the Hills, IL/Huntley HS) helped Judson University (14-7-3) to a third place finish at the NCCAA National women's soccer tournament as she scored both goals in a 2-1 win over Covenant (9-10-3). The 14 wins for Judson is the second best in program history behind the 15 wins in 2006.

Williams scored goals in the fourth minute and the 65th minutes to give Judson a 2-0 lead. Covenant scored later in the second half to cut the lead to one but Judson's ball control led them to the end of the match for the win.

Mackenzie Fowler had seven saves and Judson had six shot overall with all of them on goal.

Christina Thornton was placed on the All-Tournament team and also finishes her career at Judson as one of the greatest.  She leaves Judson as the all-time goals and points leader, is a 3-time NAIA All-American, 4-time All-CCAC first-team selection, and won both the CCAC Freshman of the Year and CCAC Player of the Year.

Judson finishes the season at 14-7-3 and comes away with their best finish ever at the NCCAA National Tournament in 3rd place.
