DEERFIELD, Ill. - Taking on #3 Bethel College for the second time in a week, Judson University fell to the Pilots, 89-73, at the Trinity International University Classic. Judson was only down one-point, 46-45, at the half.

Three players were in double figures for Judson as Ben Rayhorn led the way with 20 points. Josh Edwards added 14 and Josh Weber 10. Rayhorn and Jim Kuban were the leading rebounders with four.

At the beginning of the first half, Judson jumped out to a 7-0 lead only to see Bethel answer with a 25-8 run over eight minutes to take a 10-point lead, 25-15. Judson battled back to tie the game at 29 with 5:39 left on an Edwards three-pointer. Kuban then gave Judson the lead at the 4:23 mark on a three-pointer, 32-31. Judson kept the lead for the final four minutes, with the lead as large as four, until Bethel's Ryne Lightfoot hit a jumper to end the half for a one-point lead, 46-45.

In the second half, Judson kept pace with the Pilots and retook the lead, 49-48, on a Marious Lobdell free throw just two minutes in. Bethel bounced back and took a six-point lead, 61-55, with 14:33 remaining but Judson was within two, 61-59, at the 12:41 mark.

At that point, Bethel went on a 17-7 run to take a 15-point lead, 81-66, with just under seven minutes to play. Judson could not recover as Bethel went on for the 16-point win.

Judson finished shooting 38% on the night from both the floor and three-point land and made 68% of their free throws. Bethel shot 50% from the floor, 41% from three-point line, and 57% from the stripe. Bethel also out rebounded Judson, 34-21. Judson did have one less turnover with 11 to Bethel's 12 and had two steals.

Judson will now play Missouri Valley College in the Trinity International Classic at 2:00 p.m.
