GRAND
RAPIDS, Mich. - Running in on a muddy, rainy course with most of the NAIA
Midwest Regional cross country programs, the Judson University teams pushed
forward for a good day. Each team had
some personal bests. The women's team
finished 14th of 21 teams while the men were 19th of 21
teams.
Rachael Dean
was the top runner as she finished 24th out of over 800 runners with
a time of 19:20 in the 5K. Judson had
359 combined points on the day.
Following Dean was Ana Garcia in 80th with a time of 20:02 to
finish in the top 100. Next to cross the
finish line were Kristal Pitts (163rd - 20:39), Morgan Kimball (258th
- 20:54), Abbie Dupont (359th, 21:08), and Lisa Reitz (493rd
- 22:59).
The men
recorded 500 points for 19th place overall. Nate Nevius was the top runner with over 900
runners as he came in 79th in the 8K with a time of 27:40. Zach Adams was right behind him in 167th
crossing with a time of 27:54. After
Adams came Luke Kierys (270th - 28:23), Kyle Julian (383rd
- 28:45), Tim Ciochon (500th - 28:54), and Scott McCracken (628th
- 30:09). Judson did not have three of
their top runners run or finish due to injury or sickness.
Judson will
now take a week off as they next compete on Saturday, November 7th,
in the CCAC Championships hosted by St. Francis.
